Patent granted to JMI in Green Technology area
The Patent Office of the Government of India has granted the patent to Jamia Millia Islami(JMI) for an invention entitled ‘SYSTEM FOR ENERGY CONVERSION INCLUDING A BIDIRECTIONAL DC-DC CONVERTER’.
The invention was done by three students of B.Tech. Electrical Engineering Sheena Siddiqui, Azra Malik and Md.Danish Zunoon under the supervision of their faculty Dr. Ahteshamul Haque of the department.
The team has applied for the patent in the year 2014 and received the patent certificate on 17th February 2020. Briefing about the patent Dr. Ahteshamul Haque said that energy conversion using green technology is the need of hour and it is required to develop the efficient, effective and low cost solutions for solar power generation and control..
In this work, a novel control is developed to regulate the power flow in Solar based power generation. The work was done in Advance Power Electronics Research Lab, developed by Dr. Haque from his research grant. Vice-Chancellor JMI Prof. Najma Akhtar expressed her happiness about the achievement and congratulated Dr. Haque and his team as the university is progressing in research
