Patriotic Song and Slogan Writing Competition held at Dept of Linguistics
Aligarh: To mark the celebration of 75th Independence Day of India under “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”, the department of Linguistics organized a Slogan writing and Patriotic Song Competition. . A number of students participated in the program.
Prof MJ Warsi, Chairperson, Department of Linguistics, in his congratulatory note urged the students to create awareness about the contributions of various freedom fighters in our Independence movement.
Prof Shabana Hameed stressed on the importance of patriotic songs in various languages and talked about how these songs reminisce the sacrifices of freedom fighters. Mr Masood Ali Beg emphasized that it is imperative for the younger generation to know about the history of these compositions.
In the Patriotic Song competition, Falak Nawab won the first prize while Nida Rashid and Iram Rais secured the second and third prize respectively. Fozia Khan and Abdul Muneem Khan were given the consolation prize.
In the Slogan writing competition, Hilal Manzar Faridi won the first prize, Abdul Muneem Khan secured the second prize and Mohammad Imaan got the third prize.
