Pearl Academy Mumbai unveils state-of-the-art Media Centre
Mumbai: Pearl Academy, India’s leading institute of design, fashion, business and media, unveiled their unique state of the art Media Centre at their Mumbai campus today. The new centre was inaugurated by acclaimed actor and comedian Vrajesh Hirjee. The new media lab, with a sound studio, editing room and a newsroom with a three camera set-up and a green screen, is a testament to Pearl Academy’s commitment to create the best learning environment for their students and is an amalgamation of the best technology in the fields of Sound, Video Making and Editing, and Broadcast News.
The launch was followed by a panel discussion on the “Changing Media Landscape in the digital age”. The panel, moderated by Meha Jayaswal, HOD, School of Contemporary Media, Pearl Academy saw actors Vrajesh Hirjee and Vivek Vaswani, Koral Das Gupta (Author and Entrepreneur), Rajesh Iyer (Co-Founder, Kriscendo Media), Praveen Nagda (CEO, Peregrine Public Relations) and Shubhra Dutta (Filmmaker), talk about the various aspect of technology and how they have affected media and changed the way we consume and create content today. They discussed the introduction of podcasts in India, the evolution of video and film through OTT platforms and the need for creative thinking, among other topics.
Vrajesh Hirjee, Actor, Writer and RJ, talked about the media lab opening and said, “In today’s world, it’s great that the students have the opportunity to work with such world class facilities and can practice in real time. The most important thing in today’s changing digital landscape is to create more content than you consume. And this lab offers students the tools to do the same”
