Pedagogy workshop for the teachers of women’s studies

ALIGARH  : The faculty members, experts and students discussed various aspects of pedagogy for teachers of women’s studies during the two-day Pedagogy Workshop organized by the Advanced Centre for Women’s Studies, Aligarh Muslim University, in collaboration with the Indian Association for Women’s Studies (IAWS) from February 28 to March 1.

Highlighting the objectives of the workshop, Prof Azra Musavi, Director of the centre, said that the workshop was aimed at discussing the pedagogical tools of Women’s Studies and enriching the knowledge of the teachers of women’s studies both within the classroom and in the field interactions.

The inaugural session was followed by thematic sessions focusing on the institutionalization of the discipline, and intersectionality, interdisciplinarity and employability of Women’s Studies.

Prof N Manimeakalai (Bharthidasan University, Tamil Nadu), Prof Indu Agnihotri (CWDS, New Delhi), Dr Poonam Kakoti Borah (Gauhati University, Assam), Prof Manjit Bhatia (University of Delhi), Dr Niyati Krishna (Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development) and Dr Tarushikha Sarvesh (AMU) were the resource persons.

Dr Tauseef Fatima and Mr Sheeraz Ahmed were the coordinators of the workshop.

Faculty members and research scholars from various states including Maharashtra, Assam, Kashmir, New Delhi and Rajasthan attended the workshop.
