Penguin Random House: THE QUEEN’S GAMBIT TV Adaptation Wins 2 Golden Globes
The Netflix adaptation of the Walter Tevis novel, THE QUEEN’S GAMBIT, published by Vintage, won twice at the 78th annual Golden Globe Awards, presented via a mostly virtual ceremony broadcast live on NBC-TV Sunday, February 28.
Netflix’s biggest launch ever for a limited series, THE QUEEN’S GAMBIT won Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television, and Anya Taylor-Joy, portraying chess prodigy Beth Harmon, won Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.
August Wilson’s play MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM, published by Plume and adapted into an acclaimed film by Netflix, was also recognized at the Golden Globes, with late actor Chadwick Boseman winning Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama.
