PetrSU at Fortunatov readings

Undergraduates and teachers of the Department of Baltic-Finnish Philology took part in the conference “Fortunatov Readings”, which was dedicated to the Year of the Karelian Runes.
Anna Turkina and Tatyana Makarova, undergraduates of the Department of Baltic-Finnish Philology, under the guidance of their teachers, took part in the Fortunatov readings “Ancient runes will be forever kept by the Kalevala people …”, where they read a report on the representation of Karelian runes in the culture of Karelia, and also performed 42 yu rune, which tells about Väinämäinen’s creation of the second kantele and his wonderful playing on the instrument.

Also at the conference, pupils of secondary schools in the city of Petrozavodsk made reports on the influence of Karelian runes on the development of artistic literature, as well as creative groups with their programs based on runes.

Let us recall that the main idea of ​​the “Fortunatov Readings” project is the study and preservation of the best traditions of national and world culture, acquaintance with the history of one’s Motherland (big and small), fostering respect for the national heritage and the people who created it.
