PetrSU at the All-Russian Winter Universiade of Students

The PetrSU national cross-country skiing team took part in the All-Russian competition among students in the city of Zainsk, the Republic of Tatarstan, on March 9-15.
At this winter Universiade, the team played with its full complement, competing in three individual races and relay races.

The strongest student skiers from 23 regions of Russia came to the competition. Our athletes took the 10th place in the team, showing stable and maximum results possible for themselves.

Among the girls in individual races, the best of PetrSU skiers was Ksenia Bogdanova, a student of IFKSiT, taking 22nd place in the 10 km free race, 27th – 5 km classical style, in the sprint Ksenia reached the quarterfinal stage of the competition. Kuzlyaeva Ekaterina took 33rd place at a distance of 10 km and 35th place – 5 km.

Among young men, the best of the Karelian athletes was Alexander Andreev, a student of IFKSiT, showing 19th result in the 15 km free style, 22nd – 10 km classic, reaching the quarterfinals in the sprint. The results of Kirill Guzhiev, a student of IFKSiT: 26th place – 10 km with a classic move, 25th – 15 km with a free style were very confident. Danil Kataev, student of ILGiSN, took 31st place free style and 35th place – 10 km classics.

In a stubborn and very interesting relay race, skiers of PetrSU took 9th place among juniors (17-25 years old), consisting of: Danil Kataev, Kirill Guzhiev, Artyom Tiburev, Alexander Andreev. Girls of our university – 10th place, consisting of: Ekaterina Kuzlyaeva, Vasilisa Vekina, Ksenia Bogdanova.

The representative of the team from Karelia at the All-Russian Universiade of Students was the senior teacher of the Department of Physical Culture of PetrSU – Natalya Viktorovna Solovieva.
