“PetrSU Day” in Medvezhyegorsk

Within the framework of cooperation between PetrSU and Medvezhyegorsk municipal district, the Day of PetrSU was held in Medvezhyegorsk. The event included speeches by teachers and students, popular science lectures and master classes for future graduates of Medvezhyegorsk, meetings with representatives of the Medvezhyegorsk District Administration.
The delegation from the university included D.I. Balashov – Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Director of the Physico-Technical Institute of PetrSU, E.M. Teteleva – Senior Lecturer of the General Physics Department of the Physico-Technical Institute of PetrSU, R.I. Pyaskin is a second year master’s student at the Physicotechnical Institute, V.I. Shevchenko – Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism of the Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of PetrSU, A.A. Naumovich – employee of IFKSiT, E.Yu. Guseva is the director of the Interdistrict Center of PetrSU in Segezha, as well as the students of IFKSiT: Milena Sargsyan, Yan Vimberg, Igor Kudryashov, Daria Skripnikova, Daria Sukhorukova, Denis Troshin, Igor Fatkulin.

The director of Medvezhyegorsk school No. 1, Tatyana Ivanovna Kashtanova, and the head of the Education and Youth Affairs Department of the Medvezhyegorsk region, Galina Yanovna Pakhomova, spoke with a greeting.

The delegation of PetrSU held thematic lectures and master classes for high school students of all schools in Medvezhyegorsk, as well as for schoolchildren of the Sukkozersky school of the Muezersky district.

Assoc. DI. Balashov made a report “Physico-Technical Institute: Choose Your Future!” Continuing the theme of physics, D.I. Balashov and E.M. Teteleva showed the children fascinating physical experiments. At the end of the meeting for the birthday people (and there were 3 of them in the audience) the song “Happy birthday to you!” on a potato synthesizer. High school students took an active part – they asked questions, explained what was happening and participated in experiments.

2-year master’s student Roman Igorevich Pyaskin demonstrated to schoolchildren the work of Tesla’s transformer, which he designed himself. The most interesting thing is that with the help of this device it is possible to initiate the glow of gas-filled tubes. Tubes filled with inert gases glow in different colors: red, purple, crimson. This is quite a beautiful and impressive sight.

A.A. Naumovich made a report “Institute of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism: Our Future!” Then the students of IFKSiT PetrSU held fascinating master classes on tourism: confusion, a tower and “what is best for a hike.” Schoolchildren took part in all master classes.

Simultaneously with classes at the Medvezhyegorsk school, a meeting was held at the Administration of the Medvezhyegorsk municipal district under the head of the administration M.L. Antipov on the development of tourism. Assoc. Prof. IN AND. Shevchenko, after which an active discussion unfolded, in which representatives of the administration and business of the region took part.

A meeting of the director of the Physico-Technical Institute of PetrSU D.I. Balashova with the head of the Department of Education and Youth Affairs of the Medvezhyegorsk District G.Ya. Pakhomova. Galina Yanovna turned to Dmitry Igorevich with a proposal to establish in the Medvezhyegorsk region a specialized department of the Physico-Technical Institute of PetrSU.

They also discussed the problem of the shortage of teaching staff in urban and rural schools. It was proposed to hold a joint meeting of directors of urban and rural schools with PetrSU students – future teachers of physics, mathematics, computer science.
