PetrSU representatives at the International Fisheries Forum
St. Petersburg hosted the largest international event of great importance for the fishery complex of the Russian Federation – the IV International Fisheries Forum and Exhibition of the Fish Industry, Seafood and Technologies. The forum was organized by the Federal Agency for Fisheries with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
The business program of the forum was presented at plenary sessions, conferences and round tables, during which topical issues of production, processing and sale of fish products, as well as training for the fishery complex were highlighted.
The main issues of the development of aquaculture in Russia were also reflected and the factors hindering its development were considered.
Despite the successful operation and the rapid growth in the production of aquaculture products, many forum participants spoke about the lack of qualified personnel in almost all areas of production.
During the meetings, they repeatedly noted the significant contribution of the Republic of Karelia to the development of aquaculture, and the exhibition presented the main types of products of the largest Karelian fish-breeding enterprises.
In 2021, the products and services of the fishery industry were presented by companies from 25 countries and 40 regions of Russia. The forum and the exhibition were attended by over 7 thousand people from 78 regions of Russia and 55 countries of the world. The delegation from the fishery complex of Karelia included representatives of the Trout Breeders Association of Karelia and many fish breeding enterprises. Petrozavodsk State University was represented by A.Yu. Volkova.
Participation in the forum program, and especially in the international conference “Aquaculture – the driver of world fish production” and the round table meeting “Effective aquaculture farming”, allowed not only to receive up-to-date information on the state of the fishery complex, but also to exchange experience and contacts with representatives of the industry,
– said Anna Yurievna Volkova.
