PHD Chamber organizing its 1st India- ASEAN Business Summit: Today, Tomorrow, Together to strengthen trade & investment flows with ASEAN Economies

Hyderabad: To strengthen the Act East Policy of the Government of India and deepen bi-lateral trade and investments, PHD chamber of Commerce and Industry is organizing its 1st India – ASEAN Business Summit: Today, Tomorrow, Together on 11th & 12th November, 2019 at PHD House, New Delhi. The objective of the conference is to enhance the trade trajectory between India and ASEAN Nations to new highs.

Dr. Jatendra Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State (IC) for Development of North Eastern Region and Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, Government of India, would be inaugurating the India – ASEAN Business Summit on 11th November, 2019 at PHD House, New Delhi. Senior government officials from India and the ASEAN Nations will interact with the Business community of India and ASEAN for the promotion of bi-lateral trade and investments.

The partners for the Summit are Government of Gujarat, FICCI, ASEAN India Business Council (AIBC), DCM Shriram, Pride Plaza, GCNI, Invest India, Hindustan Petroleum, among others.

The first day of the Summit i.e. 11th November 2019 will focus on several interactive sessions on investment opportunities and scope of Strategic Partnerships in Infrastructure and Fintech, Culture & Tourism, IT/ITES & E-Commerce, Education & Skill Development, Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals and Agriculture & Food Processing, etc. The focused sectoral sessions at the Summit will witness deliberations from the experts like Mr Dato Ramesh Kodammal, Co-Chairman AIBC, Ms. Vini Mahajan, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, of Govt. of Punjab, Ms. Keshni Anand Arora, IAS, Chief Secretary of Govt. of Haryana, Deep Kalra, Chairman & Group CEO MakeMyTrip, H.E. Mr. Chutinotorn Gongsakdi, Ambassador of Thailand to India, H.E. Mr. Moe Kyaw Aung, Ambassador of Myanmar to India, Mr Tanmay Chakrobarty Group Govt. The second day of the Summit i.e. 12th November 2019 will hold special sessions focusing on Growing Trade & Commerce between India & ASEAN Nations, B2B meetings, interactions, among others.

Dr D K Aggarwal, President of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry interacted with the media and unveiled the India – ASEAN Business Summit Logo.

While informing about the theme of this year’s Business Summit which is in line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Act East Policy, he said in a press statement issued here today that this Business Summit offers an excellent platform for enhancing trade and investment ties between India and ASEAN economies to another level.

It is highly encouraging that the Government is continuously pursuing initiatives to recognize the enormous business opportunities presented by India-ASEAN economic integration vis-à-vis world, said Dr D K Aggarwal.

The Business Summit will witness huge participation from eminent officials of the Central and State Governments along with Diplomats, Indian Businesses, Foreign Businesses from ASEAN economies, International Organizations, Think Tanks, Research Organizations, Academicians and other dignitaries, said Mr Ajay Poddar, Chairman – International Committee for ASEAN, East Asia and Oceania, PHD Chamber.

The Summit provides a unique opportunity for the business and diplomatic community to come together for an interaction to strengthen their bonds and explore new business opportunities. So far the number of registered delegates is more than 400, of which more than 60 delegates are participants from the ASEAN Nations. The media interaction session was followed by a Curtain Raiser for the India – ASEAN Business Summit. The India – ASEAN Business Summit logo was unveiled by Dr. D K Aggarwal, President of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shri Sanjay Aggarwal, Senior Vice- President PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Ajay Poddar, Chairman- International Committee for ASEAN, East Asia and Oceania, PHD Chamber and other senior Managing Committee Members of PHD Chamber, in the presence of the diplomats and business delegates from various ASEAN Nations and India during the Curtain Raiser.
