Phonetics and Physical Education Labs inaugurated at S H Senior Secondary School

 

Aligarh  : Professor Asfar Ali Khan, Director, Directorate of schools, Aligarh Muslim University inaugurated Phonetics lab at the Saiyyid Hamid Senior Secondary School. Professor Abid Ali Khan, Deputy Director, inaugurated the Physical Education Lab.

Addressing on the occasion, Professor Asfar Ali Khan said that accent neutralization and training students on spoken English is the need of the hour. Highlighting the importance of the Phonetics Lab for the pronunciation and accent training of languages taught at the school, he spoke extensively on the significance of the Physical Education Lab. He said it would inculcate in students awareness about health and fitness.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr S M Mustafa, Principal of the school threw light on the importance of the above labs. He said such trainings are an integral part of their curriculum and establishing these labs is the first-ever initiative taken by a school at AMU.

Newly-constructed Phonetics Lab is well equipped with audio-visual aids and software for imparting listening and speaking skills in languages. Physical Education lab is well equipped with all gymnasium equipment and machinery such as treadmill, Cross trainer, Cycle, weight training equipment, etc.
