Picking of Button Mushroom inaugurated at Lalmandi, Srinagar
Srinagar: Mushroom cultivation is a cottage industry can be taken up as part time enterprise by all sections of society. Mushroom sector can generate additional income to the growers. This was disclosed by Director Agriculture Kashmir Altaf Aijaz Andrabi while inaugurating picking of Button Mushroom Demonstration at Demonstration Cum Training Centre Lalmandi, Srinagar.
Director stressed upon the officers to encourage the farming community of district Srinagar to add the activity of Mushroom cultivation in order to increase income.
On the occasion Director was informed that 200 number of poly bags have been laid out in the centre and approximately 300 Kgs of Mushroom harvest is expected.
Deputy Director Agriculture (Central) Nazir Ahmad Wani, Chief Agriculture Officer Arvind Baru and Mushroom Development Officer Navtej Singh Bali and other senior officers of the department were also present.
