Pine handicrafts Self Help Group attends Surajkund International Craft Mela at Faridabad

 

NOWSHERA : The members of Pine needle handicraft Self Help Group attended the International Mela held at Surajkund, Faridabad District Haryana and Surajkund International Craft Mela.

It is pertinent to mention here that more than 20 Countries have participated in the Mela held here at Surajkund.

The theme for the year was “J&K”. The handicrafts from all across India were exhibited in the Mela.

The members of Self Help Groups participated in the craft mela under the guidance of Neelima Shah IFS, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera and Rakesh Verma Range Forest Officer Sunderbani

They also showcased the pine needle handicrafts items which were highly liked by the visitors. Visitors were showing keen interest in the items like the Roti box, Hand purse, and Pooja baskets made out of Pine needles.

Ved Prakash BO accompanied the Group during the event.

It was a great learning experience for the members of Self Help Group, who were exposed to such a big platform of international repute.

The participating group was directly guided by Vivek Verma, Conservator of Forest West Circle, Rajouri.
