Plantation Drive at AKTC to Celebrate Annual Van Mahotsav

 

Aligarh : The Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University, took a significant step towards environmental conservation and sustainability by organizing a remarkable plantation drive on the occasion of Annual Van Mahotsav on July 22. The event was spearheaded by the esteemed Department of Munafeul Aza and witnessed the participation of faculty members, students, and staff.

The Plantation Drive aimed to promote the importance of preserving forests and their role in mitigating global warming and reducing carbon footprint. Numerous medicinal and ornamental saplings were carefully planted throughout the college campus, adding to the lush greenery and natural beauty of the institution.

Dr. Farooq Ahmad Dar, Chairman of the Department of Munafeul Aza, emphasized the vital role of forests in sustaining life on our planet. He urged the gathering to take responsibility for environmental conservation and reiterated the college’s commitment to ecological well-being.

Personalities from the academic and governmental sectors were present on the occasion. Prof. Shagufta Aleem, Dean of the Faculty of Unani Medicine, and Prof. B.D. Khan, Principal of Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, actively participated in planting saplings.

The event also received guests such as Prof. Abdul Waheed, Director of Unani Services, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Mr. Shariq Azam, Marketing Manager of Dawakhana Tibbiya College, who shared their insights on the significance of preserving nature’s treasures.

The Plantation Drive witnessed active involvement from various college departments, with Prof. Zameer Ahmad, Chairman of the Department of Amraze Jild, Dr. Abdul Rauf, Chairman of the Department of Ilmul Advia, and Incharge of the Herbal Garden at AKTC, along with Dr. Aisha Aijaz, Dr. Saba Zaidi, and Dr. H. Iqtidar Ahmad, showcasing their commitment to environmental sustainability.
