Plantation drive at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) premises to observe the Gandhi Jayanti

Aligarh: Tree saplings were planted in the Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) premises to observe the Gandhi Jayanti.

“The need for plantation has become even greater because of the growing pollution. More trees will filter the harmful pollutants and provide us with fresher and cleaner air besides maintaining the biodiversity,” said Professor Nafees Ahmad Khan, Chairman, Department of Botany.

He added that there is a need for a green cover for life to survive comfortably.

All faculty members of the department participated in the drive, said Prof Anwar Shahzad.
