Plantation drive held at GDC Kilam, Kulgam

Kulgam: A plantation drive organized by Forest Department Kulgam in collaboration with Government Degree College (GDC) Kilam was today held here within the premises of GDC Kilam.

Principal of the College along with other staff members, Range Officers besides students also participated in the plantation drive by planting saplings within College premises.

Sharing the details, the Divisional Forest Officer (T) Kulgam, Syed Waseem informed that more than 3.50 lac saplings of conifer, broad leaved, fruit bearing and ornamental plants will be planted in the district this season.

He said to achieve this target the Social Forestry department is planting 1.5 lakh saplings in various areas of the district while the forest department will plant 2 lac plants across district in government institutions vacant forest land patches and other places.
