Plasma therapy starts in JNMC, Aligarh Muslim University
Aligarh: Today Plasma therapy for treating Covid patients has been started at the JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and two units of blood was administered to a 72-year-old person.
According to the Principal of Medical College, Professor Shahid Ali Siddiqui, the patient suffering from diabetes was transferred from Deen Dayal Hospital and a team of doctors led by Professor Shadab Ahmad and Professor Rakesh Bhargava decided to go for plasma therapy.
Professor Tariq Mansoor, Vice Chancellor and surgeon by profession said that the university has installed a new machine and got all that required for starting plasma therapy and it will arrest the mortality rate and put the Covid patients on recovery in the western Uttar Pradesh. The JN Medical College has emerged as the frontline hospital of western Uttar Pradesh with more than 80 percent recovery rate. It has conducted around 50000 tests so far.
