Pledge on ToFEI guidelines at Abdullah School
Aligarh : In a bid to boost implementation of tobacco control initiatives among adolescents, a pledge was administered at the Abdullah School of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) under the ‘Tobacco-free Educational Institutions’ (ToFEI) guidelines of the Union Health Ministry to ensure that no tobacco product is sold inside the premises of educational institutions and in an area within 100 yards.
Umra Zaheer, Superintendent, Abdullah School highlighted how tobacco consumption leads to chronic health issues and harms almost every part of body.
She spoke about how teachers as mentors to their students can guide them against tobacco use and urge them to spread awareness in their families and neighbourhoods.
