Plogging by NCC cadets of Aligarh Muslim University

Aligarh: National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets of AMU from 1/8 Company and 2/8 Company of 8 UP Battalion, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized a plogging drive in University campus.

Plogging implies cleanliness cum awareness drive in which litter is picked up while jogging. The slogan and theme for the plogging event was “Plastic Se Raksha ? Swachhta Hi Suraksha”, The event is part of fortnightly Swachhta Pakhwada program observed by NCC AMU from December 1-15.

Proctor Prof Afifullah Khan while flagging off the Plogging rally said, “NCC cadets should feel proud of themselves for being disciplined and responsible youth and this makes them different from the rest. A sound mind not only needs a sound body but also a clean environment”.

Guest of Honor, Omar Peerzada (PRO, AMU) threw light on Swachhta Abhiyan and pointed out how this campaign has created a mindset which transformed the level of cleanliness in villages in particular and in country in general.

Commanding Officer 8 UP Bn NCC Aligarh, Col. Jaipreet Singh in his message urged the cadets to keep up the social activities. Event Coordinator Lt. Farooq Ahmad Dar, Coy Commander 1/8 Coy welcomed the guests while Lt. Najaf Ali Khan presented the vote of thanks.
