Plogging Run organised by NSS and 2J&K Girls Bn NCC wing of PSPS Govt. P. G. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar
JAMMU : As a mark of respect and tribute paying towards revolutionary freedom fighters- Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru, the NCC and NSS Units of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government P.G College for Women, Gandhi Nagar organised Plogging Run on the theme- ‘Clean my College Campus’ here under the guidance of Principal Dr. Sangita Nagari and supervision of NSS Programme officer- Prof. Mala Bhasin.
A total 48 NSS Volunteers and 45 NCC cadets actively participated in the drive and cleaned the college campus. They collected the waste in paper/cloth bags and disseminated the message of saving the environment by reducing the plastic use in our daily routine.
Principal of the College, Dr. Sangita Nagari, paid rich tributes to the Martyrs- Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru who sacrificed their lives during India’s struggle for Independence. She urged the volunteers to inculcate the values and qualities of martyrs in their lives. She also motivated them to be the part of such activities as maintaining clean environment was our moral responsibility as well.
