PM Modi distributes 70,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits via video conferencing
Prime Minister Modi distributed over 70,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits via video conferencing. While addressing new appointees, he said, Rozgar Mela is an attempt to empower the youth and encourage their active engagement in the nation’s progress. He said that the role of youth would be crucial in our efforts to make India a developed country by 2047.
The Prime Minister said during the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ when the country is working on the path of development, it is a great honour to get the opportunity to work as a government employee. Talking about the Banking sector, he said, today, India is one of those countries where the Banking sector is considered to be the strongest but this was not the situation nine years ago.
He said, Government banks which used to be discussed for loss of thousands of crores for Non-Performing Assets (NPAs), today they are being discussed for record profit. Mr Modi remarked that around 50 crore Jan Dan accounts have been opened across the country and it is a great matter of pride for every employee of the bank. Mr. Modi said the phone banking scam’ was one of the biggest scams during the previous government and due to which the Banking sector saw massive destruction. He said, the Government strengthened the management of government banks in the country since 2014. He added that the Government made a ‘Bankruptcy Code’ law so that if any bank is shut down, they have the minimum loss possible.
The Rozgar Mela is being held at 44 locations across the country. The recruitments are taking place across Central Government Departments as well as State Governments and Union Territories supporting this initiative. The Rozgar Mela is a step towards the fulfillment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord the highest priority to employment generation. The Mela is expected to act as a catalyst in further employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development.
The newly inducted appointees are also getting an opportunity to train themselves through Karmayogi Prarambh, where more than 580 e-learning courses are available.
