PM Narendra Modi inaugurates new campus of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Arabic Academy in Mumbai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the new campus of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Arabic Academy at Marol in Mumbai. He was accompanied by the head of the Dawoodi Bohra community, His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin. Mr. Modi unveiled the inaugural plaque and officially inaugurated the Arabic Academy with a ceremonial untying of the ribbon.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Modi said the Bohra community is a rich example of how traditions and modernity can go hand in hand. He said the community is very aligned to the principles of the new education policy that enables learning in regional language. The Prime Minister also lauded the community for prioritizing women education and upgrading their syllabus as per the need of the hour.

Recalling that India used to be a center of knowledge and education with institutions like Nalanda and Takshila, Mr.Modi expressed the need for regaining that glory.

Reiterating that the NDA government is duty bound to support job creators and entrepreneurs, Mr. Modi said the Dawoodi Bohra community has experienced the benefits offered by the government’s ease of doing business initiative. Mr. Modi informed that his government has abolished 40 thousand compliances and decriminalized hundreds of provisions that were earlier used to harass entrepreneurs.

Speaking on the occasion, His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin thanked the Prime Minister for his long standing relationship with the community and support in the community’s good and bad times.
