PMAY-(G) beneficiary Farooq Ahmed feels blessed; hails MGNREGA for providing job to many
Kishtwar: Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana- Grameen (PMAY-G) has changed the life of poor rural beneficiaries by getting pacca house under this scheme.
Farooq Ahmed of Nali, Block Bunjwah of District Kishtwar became a proud owner of a Pucca house after the Rural Development Department found him eligible for the PMAY benefit.
While narrating his story, Farooq Ahmed, a daily wager and sole bread earner thanked the government and especially the young and hardworking BDO. He said, “Being a daily wager and living a hand to mouth life, it was my dream to have roof of my own.”
“The PMAY-G scheme has changed my life. I am a proud owner of a Pucca house now. Earlier, I used to live in a kutcha one room house and my children couldn’t study,” he said. He said now his children have a room of their own and they can study and make their life successful.
“The scheme has not only changed my life but paved the way for successful and dignified life of my children,” he added
He was also gifted a set of Blankets by Visiting Officer Abdul Majeed Butt, Director Finance, Higher Education in the presence of Block Development Officer, Sobia Fatima and Sarpanch Khalid Hussain and other PRI members during the phase 3 of Back to Village Programme. He thanked the officer for the valuable gesture.
He also reiterated the importance of MGNREGA scheme of Rural Development Department and said it helps many daily wage earners in earning dignified bread during the lean period of the year.
