Police Headquarters, other Police Offices Open at Srinagar
Srinagar: Police Headquarter’s (PHQ) Srinagar was formally opened today. The Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh inspected offices at Police Headquarters here today where he chaired an officers meeting. He also visited Armed Police Headquarter (APHQ) to take stock of the opening of the offices, of the Unit. He chaired a meeting at APHQ, as well.
In the morning, the DGP J&K visited PHQ where he was received by senior police officers of the Police organisation. He was presented ceremonial guard of honour by a contingent of Armed Police.
Immediately the DGP chaired a meeting of senior police officers in the conference hall which was attended by ADGP CID Dr. B. Srinivas, ADGP Armed Shri A.K. Choudhary, SSP Security Shri Imtiyaz Mir, SP Arms/Ammunition Shri Gulzar Ahmad and other Gazetted Officers. The meeting at APHQ was attended by ADGP Armed, COs of Armed/IRP Bn. and other officers.
While chairing these meetings the DGP appreciated the men in khaki for their excellent work being done professionally at all fronts. He said that a recent survey has reported huge jump of people’s trust on Police throughout the nation and added that he takes pride in leading brave and professional force of J&K Police who are taking every task as a challenge with fortitude.
He said that we need to work towards further improving people’s trust in us every day.
The DGP said that over 15000 police personnel working as frontline corona warriors are fighting with determination at various Covid care centres including high risk zone. He acknowledged the support provided to these personnel in terms of masks, protection gears and sanitizers in large numbers by the Police Welfare Centres, Workshops, Districts and Armed Police units. He also appreciated the role of JK Police in helping the needy local or non-local people while accommodating and providing dry ration/cooked food, medicines etc.
The DGP directed the officers to take all precaution/measures in sanitizing and decontaminating the office buildings in Kashmir regularly.
He said that the required accommodation for the employees working in these camp offices is being provided keeping in consideration all the health protocols.
Shri Dilbag Singh stressed upon the officers to take all the preventive measures to strengthen the security grid. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police along with other security agencies are fighting on multiple fronts and need of the hour is to strengthen and augment the security grid. He said that anti-national elements are always looking for the loopholes and their motive to disturb the peace has to be dealt with firmly.
The officers gave a detailed briefing about the working of their Units/offices and personnel on different fronts.
