The candidates, graduates and PhD students from Italian universities and Italians who graduated abroad, presented their theses on topics related to geosciences and petroleum engineering, but also to renewable energies, alternative raw materials for green refinery, in energy economy and management. There were seventy participants.
Roberto Scaccabarozzi, currently a Research Fellow, was awarded the first prize in the “Master & PhD thesis” category for his PhD thesis “Thermodynamic Optimization of the Alarm Cycle and Thermo-Fluid Dynamics Design of the cooled CO2 Turbine”.
Federico Parolin, now a collaborator of the Department of Energy, won the first prize in the “Master & PhD thesis” category for his Master’s thesis “Development of a georeferenced model for the optimal design of a hydrogen supply chain infrastructure”.
Giancarlo Gentile, currently a Research Fellow, was awarded a special mention for his Master’s thesis “Thermal and Creep-Fatigue Analysis of External Receivers for Solar Tower Plants”.
