Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile: The outstanding cycle of free talks is back: “Physics for winter afternoons”

How can Physics help to face the pandemic due to covid-19? Did the Big Bang really exist? Can we measure the positive effect of exercising on our brain? How were the first nuclear weapons created? Is it possible to measure the size of an atom?

These are some of the contingent and exciting questions that give rise to a new version of the cycle of talks “Physics for Winter Afternoons” , which this year 2021 will take place between August 5 and September 2, in online format and free .

“Week by week, leading researchers from the Faculty of Physics of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile will accompany the participants on a journey through the different areas of Physics, on the frontier of knowledge and its high impact applications in the life of each one of the assistants ” , indicated Roberto Rodríguez, director of the Institute of Physics of the Faculty of Physics UC .
