Poonch: MP Jugal Kishore reviews implementation of CSSs at DISHA meeting

Poonch: Member Parliament, Jammu-Poonch constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma on Thursday chaired a meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee – DISHA to review the physical and financial achievements under various centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in Poonch district.
The MP, during day long tour to the district, inaugurated a number of developmental projects and interacted with the public deputations.
The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner, Rahul Yadav; Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohd Rashid; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sheraz ul Haq; besides Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Development, District Panchayat Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer and other concerned district and sectoral officers.
The meeting was also attended by members Disha Committee district Poonch Murti Sharma, Shashi Luthra, Captain Bansi Lal and Gurcharan Singh.
At the outset, the DDC gave a detailed powerpoint presentation on the achievements and progress under different schemes and the status of various developmental projects being executed in the district by different agencies.
While giving details of the progress achieved under Jal Jeevan Mission, the DDC informed that as many as 189 schemes have been approved under Jal Jeevan Mission out of which work on 70 schemes would be completed by the end of this year covering around 41000 households. He also said that the work on the schemes under NRDWP and NABARD is at different phases of execution.
About languishing project scheme, it was highlighted that the Government has sanctioned 30 projects in the district including 22 roads and 08 bridges. The work on all these projects has been started and is at different phases of execution.
Regarding the progress achieved under PMGSY scheme, it was given out that out of 171 projects sanctioned under the scheme, the work on 126 is complete in all respects and the rest are at different phases of execution.
On inquiring about the progress on construction of bunkers for the border inhabitants, the MP was appraised that against 1388 bunkers sanctioned for the district, 981 have been completed and the rest are nearing completion.
While reviewing the measures being taken to ensure the uninterrupted power supply in the district, it was appraised that the capacity of the power station at Draba has been enhanced to 70 MVA to meet the shortage of power supply in the district. Giving details of the steps being taken to ensure the effective management of COVID19 in the district, the DDC said that the district administration has taken a combination of containment and mitigation measures in the district by carrying out contact tracing, limiting travel by way of establishing special check posts and quarantining suspected cases.
The MP took a comprehensive review of physical and financial achievements under centrally sponsored schemes like MUDRA, PMGSY, DDUGJY, NRLM, PMUJ, PMKSY, PMUY, SAUBHAGYA, IWMP, MGNREGA, ICDS, BBBP, PM-KISAN, KCC Swachh Bharat Mission, etc.
He also reviewed the achievements of various schemes implemented by the PWD, PDD, Jal Shakti Department, Agriculture, Horticulture, Education, Social Welfare, Labor Department and Urban development department.
The MP asked the concerned officers to put in extra efforts for effective implementation of all the centrally sponsored schemes at ground level to benefit the targeted sections. He also called for generating mass awareness about these schemes to enable the eligible people to avail the benefits. He asked the concerned departments to ensure the judicious utilization of the funds and ensure close monitoring of the developmental works being undertaken for their time bound completion.
The MP also lauded the efforts of district administration in effective containment and management of the COVID-19 pandemic in the district. He also expressed satisfaction on the overall progress of the district in the implementation of the centrally sponsored schemes. He advised the members of PRIs and MCs to effectively monitor and help administration in successful implementation of the schemes.
