Poshan Abhiyan: MSK Kishtwar holds series of awareness events

Kishtwar: The Centre for Women, (Mahila Shakti Kendra) Kishtwar today conducted a series of awareness events on Poshan Abhiyan, here at various AnganWari Centres (AWCs).
The awareness events were attended by AWWs, Anganwadi Helpers,Asha Workers and local women.
Awareness was generated regarding the proper diet for pregnant women during pre and post pregnancy, importance of diet for development of growing embryo and pregnant mother, early initiation of breastfeeding to newborn child, importance of colostrum for health of child, and benefits of breastfeeding mother and child.
The MSK Team also made women aware of the important supplements to be taken during pregnancy and importance of antenatal checkup for pregnant women.
The participants were also sensitised about the right age of marriage, skill development programmes for women and free elementary education for children.
