Aligarh : Poster making and slogan writing events were held and extempore speeches on the themes of forest conservation, water conservation and importance of cleanliness were delivered to mark the “Swachhta Pakhwada” in various departments of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
The Department of Anaesthesiology, JN Medical College, AMU organised these events with great enthusiasm under the supervision of Prof Qazi Ehsan Ali, Chairperson of the Department.
The event was coordinated by Dr Nazia Tauheed, Assistant Professor in the Department. All the faculty members and Senior Residents of the department were present on the occasion.
The Department of Psychology virtually organised several competitions to mark the Swacchta Pakhwada, under the guidance of Professor Asma Parveen, Chairperson of the Department.
Sarah Kazim, Mohammed Shams Uddoha Khan, and Riya Verma won the first, second and third prize respectively in the prose writing competition on the theme “Your Idea of Swacchta”. Amir Beg and Anshrah Naz received consolation prizes.
Tafseer Kausar, Aamir Beg and Garima Saraswat secured first, second and third position respectively in the slogan writing competition on the theme “Forest Conservation”. The consolation prizes were given to Amaan Ansari and Ilma Athar.
In the poster making competition on “Water Conservation”, Rooshil Khan secured the first position while Rooma Raza and Farhat Nasir secured the second and third position respectively. Maryam Shahid received the consolation prize.
In the prose writing competition, the participants submitted their works written in English, Hindi and Urdu languages. The competition was judged by Dr. Usama Rehman, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, AMU.
In the slogan writing competition participants were required to submit their works in any of the three English, Hindi or Urdu languages. The competition was judged by Dr. Heena Parveen, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, AMU.
For the Poster Making Competition, participants submitted self-made original conscious awakening posters on the given theme, which were judged by Dr Heena Parveen.
The competitions were open to the students as well as the employees, with the aim to promote the importance of “Swacchta” and create awareness about conservation of the environment.
The results of the competitions were announced through the Department’s web page and e-certificates were given to the winners.
