Poster making competition on ‘Invest in our Planet’ held at GDC Ramban

RAMBAN : The Department of Environmental Sciences, in collaboration with NSS Unit, organized a poster making competition to commemorate Earth Day, 2022, here under the guidance of Principal of the College, Dr. Ranvijay Singh

The Principal welcomed the participants of the event and highlighted the importance of celebrating Earth Day. He elaborated that the main aim of this event was to raise awareness about the growing concerns of overpopulation, loss of biodiversity and depleting quality of the environment.

About 12 students from different streams of college participated in the competition. Head, Department of Environmental Sciences, Dr. Vikram Rathore briefed the students about the theme of the competition and discussed the rules and regulations of the poster making competition.

Meanwhile, Programme Officer, NSS Prof Vickey Rattan also highlighted the importance of celebrating this day.

Prof. Satish Kumar, Prof Kamaljeet Singh, Prof Younis Ahmed, and Dr. Vinod Kumar, were the jury members of the competition.

The other faculty members present were Prof. Aadil, Prof. Vijay Sharma, Prof. Ramandeep and Prof. Ankur Dogra.

Among the winners, Soni Katoch, student of B. A. semester 2nd bagged the first position, Miss Rohini Thakur, student of B. A. semester 2nd bagged the second position and Miss Anu Devi, of B. Sc. Semester second bagged the third position. All the participants were given participation certificates at the end of the event.
