Poster making contest held at GDC Dudu-Basantgarh
UDHAMPUR: As part of the celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav”, Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College (GDC) Dudu Basantgarh today organized a poster making competition on HIV/AIDS awareness.
While addressing the students, Principal of the College Dr Bhavnaish Chand encouraged them to be well informed and share their knowledge with their friends, relatives, and family members about the causes, prevention and cure of HIV/AIDS. He further apprised the students to become responsible citizens of the country and shoulder the responsibility of eradicating all such diseases which have become impediments in the mental as well as physical well being of the society.
The objective of the programme was to strengthen the Red Ribbon Club of the Colleges and to enhance HIV/AIDS awareness in educational institutions.
The students displayed their understanding and knowledge about the causes and effects of HIV/AIDS. Through their posters, the students tried to inform the audience that it is only through collective efforts and proper education that we can defeat the monster of HIV/AIDS.
On the collective judgment of the jury, Palma Devi of Sem-3rd bagged the First Prize, Rakesh Kumar of Sem-2nd secured Second position, and Shaista Akhter of Sem-5th got Third Prize.
Among others, Prof. Rahul Sharma, Prof. Pradeep Kumar Kundal, Dr. Ravi Kumar, Dr. PP Singh, Prof. Mudasir Ahmad, Prof. Nazir Ahmad, Prof. Aastha Gupta, and Prof. Vijay Kumar.
