Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram is being implemented in 1300 identified Minority Concentration Areas in the country: Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi

New Delhi: Out of various schemes being implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, only one scheme namely Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) is Centrally Sponsored Scheme, under which funds are released to the State Governments.

The Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) has been restructured in 2018 and is now being implemented in 1300 identified Minority Concentration Areas (MCAs), with an objective of developing socio-economic infrastructure and basic amenities in the said areas. For larger coverage of the scheme, the areas under PMJVK have been increased from 90 Districts originally to 308 Districts of the country, which include 870 Blocks, 321 Towns and 109 District Headquarters

Since 2014-15 to 2019-20, an amount of Rs. 291.14 crore has been allocated under the PMJVK scheme for projects in MCAs of Rajasthan out of which Rs. 88.57 crore has been allocated in MCAs of Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan.

This information was given in a written reply by the Union Minister of Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in the Lok Sabha today.
