Pramod Chaudhari to speak on Second Generation Biofuels at BIO World Congress 2017

Pune: Pramod Chaudhari will speak at BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology, scheduled from 23rd to 26th July 2017 at Montreal, Canada. BIO World Congress is a global event on Industrial Biotechnology which provides a unique platform for industry leaders, business executives, policy makers and academic researchers to share the latest advances in renewable chemicals, synthetic biology, enzymes, food ingredients and biofuels. This event witnesses participation of prominent leaders in the industrial biotechnology space.

He will participate in the session entitled, “Second Generation Biofuels Poised for Big Wins”. This session will highlight the imperatives to successful commercialization and growth of low carbon fuels. Speakers will discuss the economics that are paramount to fuel applications, the use of second generation feedstocks, conversion technologies and the importance of identifying the right molecules, and finally the role of Automakers and Airlines in driving market demand for these products.

Pramod Chaudhari is the Executive Chairman of Praj, a global process solutions company. As a first generation techno-entrepreneur, he founded Praj in 1983. He dreamt and developed Praj into a global company, having more than 750 references in 75 countries.

Under his leadership, Praj has successfully launched India’s first bio-refinery demonstration plant on 7th May 2017. The plant was formally inaugurated by Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping, Govt. of India.
For few successive years, Mr. Chaudhari has been voted amongst “Globally Top 100 People” in bio-energy space by Biofuels Digest. He has also secured BioSpectrum Leadership Award in the year 2013 for his remarkable work in promoting the cause of Biofuels in the past three decades. Pramod has worked as Chairman of National Committee on Bio-Energy since 2007-08 to 2016-17, at Confederation of India Industry (CII).
Deeply passionate about environment, Mr. Chaudhari is committed to develop clean and green technologies to make this world a better place to live. He established dedicated R&D facility, Praj Matrix, which aims to develop break through sustainable, commercializable innovative technologies for renewable energy and bio-based chemicals.
Mr. Chaudhari holds a Mechanical engineering degree from prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School (AMP 1995).
