Pranchiyettan’s Adukkala: Chammanikodath Francis & Family Charitable Trust Initiates Free Meals for the Needy

Kochi: In a heartfelt endeavor to address hunger among the less fortunate, the Chammanikodath Francis & Family Charitable Trust (CFFCT) has inaugurated ‘Pranchiyettan’s Adukkala.’ With the noble message ‘Annadanam Maha Punyam,’ the trust aims to provide free breakfast and midday meals to those in need. The initiative, situated near Chakaraparam Holiday Inn Hotel in Ernakulam city, was inaugurated by Ernakulam MLA T. J. Vinod, Thrikkakara MLA Uma Thomas, and Shibu Francis Chammini, Managing Director of Brightech Interiors and Exteriors and chairman of CFFCT.

Free meals are served daily, with breakfast available from 8 am to 9 am and lunch from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. The event was marked by the lighting of the Bhadradeepam, symbolizing the commencement of this benevolent effort.

Thrikkakara MLA Uma Thomas praised the trust’s spirit and urged others to emulate the commitment shown by Chammanikodath Francis & Family Charitable Trust. Ernakulam MLA TJ Vinod expressed those initiatives like Pranchiyettan’s Adukkala, led by Shibu Francis Chammani and the charitable trust, could eradicate hunger in Kerala if more people come forward.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony at Vennala Udyana Convention Centre, CPM Ernakulam District Secretary and Palliative Care Society District President CN Mohanan commended the initiative and stated that Pranchiyettan’s Adukkala could contribute to the government’s plan for a ‘Kerala without hunger.’

Shibu Francis Chammani, Chairman of CFFCT, shared his inspiration behind the initiative and highlighted the rapid construction of the 3000 square feet building in just 14 days. Already, around 250 people are arranged to receive meals from Pranchiyettan’s Adukkala, and the staff, including approximately 300 employees, are committed to supporting this altruistic cause.

The event witnessed the presence of esteemed guests, including Fr. Thomas Pulikal, Fr. Joji Kuthkat, Fr. Babu Vavakkat, Fr. Joshi Netumparampil, 46th Division Ward Councilor KB Harshal, Kakkanad Kinfra Industries Chairman Sabu George, Kaloor Viknjanodaya Library President P. A. Stephen, along with notable personalities from the entertainment industry.
