Praxis Holds Annual Convocation of their PGDM Class of 2022
Chandrashekar Ghosh, Founder, MD & CEO, Bandhan Bank, inspires the 14th batch of Praxis’ flagship PGDM program
Bengaluru : Praxis Business School, a premier institution focused on building Digital Leaders of the future, held the annual convocation ceremony of their PGDM Class of 2022 in the august presence of Mr. Chandrashekar Ghosh, Founder, MD & CEO, Bandhan Bank.
Mr. Ghosh inspired students of the 14th batch of Praxis’ flagship PGDM program, as they stepped into the corporate world. The Convocation Ceremony was held at the main campus of Praxis Business School in Kolkata.
A total of 58 students received their Diplomas while four Merit awards were also conferred. The academic rank holders were, Sahyn Banerjee 1st position; Shirshendu Battacharya 2nd position and Rupali Patra 3rd position.
Mr. Ghosh then delivered the Convocation address where he enthralled the students with anecdotes from his life and lessons he learned while building a leading financial institution like Bandhan Bank.
Mr. Ghosh also stressed on the importance of entrepreneurship in taking the nation to its goal of a five trillion economy. “In all my work in the rural and semi-urban India, and my discussions with thought leaders, one area that India needs more momentum in is business. Most of us belong to families where business is not seen as a career option. Stable income, job security, respect – these are the adjectives that most Indians attach to a job and not to a business. I am privileged that I have been able to do what I set out for in 2001. Bandhan Bank has more than 1.75 crore customers who are women entrepreneurs, who through their hard work and determination, and with financial help from Bandhan, have been able to transform their lives and that of their families.”, said Mr. Ghosh. He urged the young minds of the school to explore the possibility of using the lessons learnt during the corporate stint to start a business of their own and address a human problem that has the potential to change lives.
Delivering the concluding address Mr. Charanpreet Singh, Founder Director, Praxis Business School Foundation, said, “The two-year journey of this batch, with Praxis has been fulfilling and challenging – as we adapted to a hybrid model of academic delivery. I am sure our students have come out more resilient and stronger and will build enriching and successful careers.”
Remarking on the success of the institution he said, “during this time, our PGDM program has improved its ranking to become one of the top B-schools in the region as well as the country. This has been made possible by the collaborative efforts of our wonderful team of faculty members, academic and non-academic leaders, our industry partners and recruiters, our strong alumni network and of course, our students.
Mr. Singh concluded his remarks by thanking the Chief Guest saying, “I would like to extend my gratitude towards Mr. Ghosh for taking time out from his busy schedule to come and inspire our students. It was really gracious of him to respond to our request and make our event all the more memorable”
Mr. Kamlesh Sajnani, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Praxis Business School, declared the Convocation ceremony open and delivered the opening address.
