Prayagraj’s United University (UU) collaborates with Spain’s URV, signs MoU

Prayagraj : Setting another milestone in the field of academics, United University (UU), Prayagraj signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) of Spain, on Friday. This is the first academic collaboration of UU with any European university and third in a row in the past six months.

Prior to this, UU has signed a MoU with Buriram Rajabhat University (BRU) of Thailand on September 16, 2021 while another agreement was done with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) of Indonesia on December 1, 2021 for academic excellence.

UU’s Vice-Chancellor Dr Jagdish Gulati and Rector, URV Prof. María José Figueras signed the memorandum in the presence of the delegations present from both the universities in a virtual meet.

Speaking on the occasion, UU’s Vice-Chancellor said that the collaboration will surely facilitate both the prestigious institutions to exchange common interest in the field of higher education, fostering advancement in teaching, joint research and cultural understanding.

Sharing his views, the Vice Chairman Satpal Gulati said that it was a historical and proud moment for UU to collaborate with one of the coveted universities of Europe. The agreement, which is the first with any European university, will certainly provide opportunity to students of both the universities sharpen their practical skills, enhancing their abilities to work in culturally diverse teams, contributing largely to their personal and professional growth, he added.

Vice president of UU Gaurav Gulati welcomed all the dignitaries and briefed about the university, its academic initiatives, courses and other co-curricular activities.

Talks were also held on courses related to nursing and their scopes.

Vice Rector for Internationalization, URV Prof Dr. John Style spoke on the importance of international collaboration and praised UU delegates for taking such a significant move.

UU’s Pro VC AM Agrawal proposed the vote of thanks.

Dean, Faculty of Nursing Prof Maria Jimenez and International Centre Officer Susana de Llobet from URV and Prof Sanjay Srivastava, Prof KK Malaviya, Dr Devendra Tiwari, Dr Ajay Sharma from UU were also present during the signing of MoU.
