Preamble reading, pledge ceremonies organised in Jammu Div to mark Constitution Day Celebration
JAMMU : The District Administrations, Courts, Government departments, Educational Institutions, Panchayat Institutions and Urban Civic Bodies today celebrated Constitution Day with patriotic fervour and gaiety.
The celebration was marked by reading of the Preamble of Indian Constitution, paying of tributes to architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, holding of awareness rallies and pledge ceremonies to express commitment to follow Fundamental Duties as enshrined in the Constitution.
J&K Advisory Board for Welfare and Development of Scheduled Castes: As a part of the National Campaign to celebrate the Constitution Day , the staff of J&K Advisory Board for Welfare and Development of Scheduled Castes celebrated the Constitution Day in the office premises. Rich tributes were paid to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the constitution of India and the founding father of the Republic of India. His contribution in providing constitutional guarantees and protection of civil liberties, abolition of un-touchability, freedom of religion and outlawing of all forms of discrimination was cherished.
A Help Desk and Kiosk for Grievances redressal against Atrocities on the members of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes was established in the office premises.
The Secretary of the Board read out the “Preamble” at 11.00 A.M. to promote constitutional values among the staff. A pledge to the Fundamental Duties was also taken by the staff members to signify that the individual should not overlook their fundamental duties while exercising their Fundamental rights.
Div Com Office: Constitution Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm here at Div Com office.
Officers and Officials of Divisional Commissioner Office Jammu read out the preamble of the constitution to mark the celebration of Constitution Day in the office premises at 11 am followed by a pledge to uphold the fundamental duties.
Additional Commissioners, Assistant Commissioner Central, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue Attorney), Deputy Director Planning and other staff members were also present on the occasion.
District Court Udhampur: Udhampur District Court celebrated the Constitution Day on Saturday by reading out of the Preamble of the Constitution of India.
The Function was presided over by (Chairman District legal services Authority) Principal District and Session Judge, Y P Bourney. Beside others, Additional District & Session Judge, Dinesh Gupta , Sub Judge ,CJM, Manoj Parihar , President Bar Association, J.D Slathia along with office bearers of Bar association , advocates, Prosecution officers, ministerial staff of different courts attended the function .
In his address, Y.P Bourney said that on November 26, 1949, the Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect from 26th January 1950.
He also highlighted the importance of The Preamble of the Constitution and explained the Principles and characteristics of the Constitution.
Sheep Husbandry Department: Preamble reading ceremony was today organised in the Sheep Husbandry Complex, Jammu to mark the celebration of Constitution Day.Director SHD, Krishan Lal and the officers /officials of the department participated in the preamble reading ceremony.
At Kathua: To mark the day of adoption of Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly, District Administration Kathua organised a function in the conference Hall of DC Office here at Kathua today.
The function was started with reading of the ‘Preamble’ to the constitution of India by Deputy Commissioner , Rahul Pandey and other officers/officials. A Pledge was also administered to the participants to discharge their fundamental duties with sincerity and honesty.
Similar programmes were also organised in the tehsils and Block headquarters across the District.
At Ramban: District Administration, Ramban, under the aegis of Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, celebrated Constitution Day to mark the anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, besides raising awareness about the Indian Constitution among the masses.
The main function was held at the District Administrative Complex, Ramban.
The Constitution Day was also observed at Sub-division, Tehsil, and Block level offices, Colleges, Schools, and other institutions where the functions started with the reading of the ‘preamble’ to the constitution of India by the presiding officers.
At Doda: The adoption day of the Constitution of India was observed by the District Administration Doda by organizing Preamble reading ceremonies in all the government offices, Colleges and Schools, across the district.
District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan celebrated the day with the students of Government Higher Secondary School Assar.
He read out the Preamble in presence of SDM Assar, ACD Doda, staff and the students. ADC, Dr R. K Bharti led the ceremony at DC office, while all the SDMs, head of offices and Tehsildars observed the day by reading Preamble at their respective offices.
At Reasi: The 73rd Constitution Day was celebrated in District Reasi with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.
ADDC, Jyoti Salathia read out the preamble of the constitution in the DC Office premises at 11 am followed by a pledge to uphold the fundamental duties.
Similar functions were held in other offices of the district where the participants were briefed about the significance of the Constitution of India and the Preamble.
GDC Banihal: Department of Political Science, in collaboration with Debates & Seminar Committee/NSS, celebrated Constitution Day to commemorate the adoption of the constitution of India and pay homage to all the architects of Indian constitution, especially Dr. B.R Ambedkar. The programme began with the address of moderator cum convener, Prof Sajad Ahmad Sultan, followed by students’ presentations who were felicitated by the college administration
The keynote speaker was Prof. Mukhtar Ahmad Mir, who spoke on the theme: India the Mother of Democracy.
Earlier, at the outset, the preamble reading ceremony was attended by all the employees and students of the college.
GDC Pouni: Government Degree College Pouni hosted a Lecture and an oath-taking ceremony to mark the observance of National Constitution Day. IQAC, in collaboration with the Arts Department took the initiative under the supreme guidance of Principal, Prof. Rajni Bhagat. Dr. Prem Singh, HOD Political Science and Prof. Balbir Kumar, Convener IQAC administered the whole event.
Dr. Prem Singh, Associate Professor, presented the Keynote address. He gave a brief outline of the Constitution of India and the efforts made to complete it.
After the lecture, a pledge ceremony was led by Kiran Sharma, a student of Semester and the students vow to uphold the Fundamental Duties.
At Rajouri: The 73rd Constitution Day was celebrated in Rajouri district with utmost fervour and zeal.
The function started with reading of the ‘Preamble’ to the constitution of India at District Headquarter Rajouri in which district officers and officials took enthusiastic participation.
Addressing the event, the DC highlighted the importance of the day and appealed to the officers, officials and public to work as a team to take the district to new heights of development.
DLSA KATHUA: Under the aegis of NALSA and JKLSA, District Legal Services Authority Kathua observed 73rd Constitution Day / National Law Day / Samvidhan Divas here at District Court Complex.
Chairman DLSA Kathua, Jaffer Hussain Beg read out the Preamble of the Constitution of India and also apprised the participants (Judicial Officers and Staff Members) about the importance of the Constitution Day.
Similar events were organized at Tehsil Headquarters by the respective Chairmen, Tehsil Legal Services Committees.
Further to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India, District Legal Services Authority Kathua also organized a Quiz Competition in collaboration with the Department of Education, Kathua at Govt. High School Raj Bagh .
Four teams were constituted for this Competition wherein Team A comprised of students namely Pawan Kumar and Jalekhan (9th & 10th Standard); Team B comprised of students namely Priya Devi and Ashbak Ahmed (9th & 10th Standard); and Team C comprised of students namely Manish Sharma and Aakashdeep Salaria (8th & 10th standard); and Team D comprised of students namely Palve Devi and Rinku Singh (9th Standard).
The proceedings of the program were conducted by Deputy Legal Aid Defence Counsel Puneet Kumar and Assistant Legal Aid Defence Counsel Neeraj Kumar.
Team C clinched first prize; Team B got 2nd prize and Team A got 3rd prize
Light refreshment was also distributed among students who attended the Competition.
GDC Ramgarh: Government Degree College Ramgarh organized a symposium on ‘Making of Indian Constitution and its Preamble’ to commemorate the National Constitution Day. The event was organized by the Department of Education in collaboration with the Department of Political Science under the convenership and supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Satinder Kaur, the Principal of the College.
Prof. Seema Sharma delivered the formal welcome address. In her address, she welcomed the faculty members and students of the College.
A total of 8 students of the College participated in the symposium.. The first position was secured by Amanpreet Kour of Semester-V, the second position was secured by Sahil Kumar of Semester-III, and the third position was secured by Rimpy Angural of Semester-III. The event was judged by Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dr. Shamsher Lal and Prof. Risha Kumari.
At CHC Katra: The constitution Day- SAMVIDHAN DIWAS was celebrated at CHC Katra. During the program the preamble of constitution was read and pledge was taken by Officers/Officials of block to uphold the values of Justice, Liberty, Fraternity and Equality as explained in constitution of India.
Further a one day workshop regarding elimination of Measles and Rubella was chaired by deputy CMO Reasi Dr M.Y Khan in presence of BMO Katra Dr Gopal Dutt. The meeting was attended by MLHPs and ASHA workers and Officials of block Katra.
During the workshop the strategy was discussed to eliminate the MR by the targeted year 2023. The Deputy CMO said that an aggressive campaign is about to be launched in the coming month to get all the left out population with MR vaccine. BMO Katra also reviewed the progress of door to door NCD screening of the targeted population and directed the officials for early completion of the same.
At Poonch: To celebrate 73th Constitution Day, District Administration Poonch, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Inder Jeet, organised a Pledge taking ceremony in the conference hall of the DC office.
The Deputy Commissioner read out the Preamble and urged the participants to uphold the principles of Equality, justice, brotherhood, freedom, fraternity embedded in the Preamble of the Constitution while serving the citizens of the country.
Similar functions were held in all offices of the district where the participants were briefed about the significance of the Constitution of India and the Preamble.
At Udhampur: Constitution Day (SAMVIDHAN DIVAS) was celebrated across the various educational institutions of District Udhampur with full zeal and enthusiasm to commemorate the adoption of the constitution of India.
Preamble reading ceremony was held in all the educational institutions in different official languages mostly in Hindi, Urdu, Dogri and English. An online Quiz on India the mother of Democracy was also conducted by different institutions and certificates of participation were also generated through the designated web portal.
The office of the Chief Education Officer organised a preamble reading ceremony under the supervision of Joint Director Udhampur/Reasi Dhirendra Sharma and Chief Education officer Udhampur Arvin Kumar Koul.
At Kishtwar: To commemorate the adoption day of the Constitution of India, the District Administration Kishtwar hosted Preamble reading ceremonies at all the government offices, Educational institutions including Colleges and Schools across the district.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr Devansh Yadav read out the Preamble in presence of PRIs and District officers and staff of DC office in Conference Hall DC office complex at a simple but impressive programme.
Similarly, events were held in the subdivisions and Tehsils by reading Preamble.
GDC Ramnagar: “NSS Unit” and “Shikshit Bharat Abhiyaan” Committee of Govt. Degree College Ramnagar, under the supreme guidance of the principal of the college, Dr. Udhey Bhanu, organised a lecture and Quiz- Competition to celebrate the Constitution Day under the theme, “India: The Mother of Democracy”.
The programme began with the welcome address by Prof. Swarna Devi, HOD Political Science and convenor of Shikshit Bharat Abhiyan, which was followed by her Lecture on the Topic “A brief study of Indian Constitution”. She explained various aspects of the constitution. She discussed the Preamble, Nature, objectives, features and Fundamental Structure of the constitution.
Meanwhile, 16 students of Semester first participated in a Quiz-competition. Four teams (Team A, B, C and D) with four students each took part in the contest. Team “D” was declared as the winner- team. The proceedings of the Quiz were carried out by Prof. Ritika Mahajan, HOD Chemistry & NSS Programme Officer, who was assisted by Prof. Divya Puri, Prof. Shobha Rani and Prof. Sonam Gandotra.
At DSEJ: Directorate of School Education Jammu observed the Constitution Day by organising ‘Preamble Reading and Oath Ceremonies’, across all the districts of Jammu division to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India and to honour and acknowledge the contribution of the Founding Fathers of the Constitution in nation building.
Students and staff members of all the schools of Jammu region participated in the event to raise awareness about the Indian Constitution and took oath by reading out the Preamble and pledged to uphold the Constitution of India with utmost dedication, sincerity and fervour.
Similar oath ceremonies were held in schools and offices across all the 10 districts of Jammu division, where students, teachers and other through online mode under the guidance of chief education officers of respective districts.
