Precautions for safety is not helplessness, they are must to save lives: CM Chouhan

Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that alertness and vigilance is necessary looking at the gravity of Corona pandemic from the global level to the state. It is important to understand the lethality of Corona infection and to be afraid of. Only then people will take precautions necessary to prevent Corona seriously. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the state government is making every effort to control and manage Corona. Doctors and paramedical staff are also putting in every possible effort. Medicine for Corona is not available right now, it is likely to take more time. Therefore, the society will have to be more serious in this direction. Social, religious, commercial organizations and voluntary organizations will have to become active and inspire people to take precautions against Corona. An environment would have to be created that this is not a helplessness, it is for one’s own protection and safety. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing the review meeting of Corona management at Mantralaya today.

Initiative taken by traders commendable

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan appreciated the initiative taken by the traders of Indore and New Market besides 10 no. market of Bhopal to limit the duration of shops’ opening themselves and to keep the crowd in control. He said that the state government will encourage this inspiring practice of taking precautions.

Long-term strategy will be planned with everyone’s consent

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that in view of the situation of Corona getting serious and the compulsion not to stop social and economic activities for a long time, it is necessary to make a long term strategy. He directed Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains to work on this by forming a sub-group. Shri Chouhan said that a roadmap should be developed through consensus. For this, an action plan should be worked out in consultation with religious leaders, social, political, commercial and voluntary organizations. Instructions were also given to develop a strategy for Corona management in coordination with the management of private hospitals, medical colleges and subject experts. Shri Chouhan said that a district specific strategy should be developed, keeping in account the specific situation in each district.

It was informed in the meeting that the recovery rate of Corona in the state is 75 percent, but the number of active cases is on rise. While seeking information of the districts of Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain etc., the Chief Minister issued instructions to be alert and take precautions. The number of beds and management in hospitals, number of fever clinics functional in the state and work in district level command and control centres were also reviewed in the meeting. Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra, Medical Education Minister Shri Vishwas Sarang, Additional Chief Secretary Health Shri Mohammad Suleman were present at the meeting. Officers in charge of various districts attended the meeting through video conference.
