Presidency University, Bangalore Achieves a Landmark on Globalisation: 105 International MoUs with 31 Countries
Bengaluru: Presidency University, Bengaluru, India, has reached a momentous milestone by securing 105 International Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with prestigious universities from 31 different countries with-in 20 months of Office of International Affairs. This achievement marks a significant step in the institution’s commitment to fostering global engagement and providing transformative experiences to its students.
The Office of International Affairs at Presidency University has been instrumental in facilitating these collaborations, opening up a world of opportunities for students and faculty members. Through these MoUs, students will now have access to prestigious research internships, semester exchanges, summer programs, and direct progression to master’s degrees across a diverse range of disciplines.
To celebrate this remarkable achievement, a special event was organized at the University premises. The ceremony was graced by the presence of His Excellency Mr. Chandru Iyer, British Deputy High Commissioner Bengaluru, who was the esteemed Chief Guest. The 100th International MoU was formally exchanged with the University of Bristol, UK, adding to the significance of the occasion. Professor Agnes Nairn, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement), University of Bristol, UK, joined the ceremony and highlighted the importance of this partnership.
“We are honoured to have achieved this significant milestone in our journey towards becoming a global educational hub,” said Dr. Nissar Ahmed, Chancellor, Presidency University. “These international collaborations will not only provide invaluable learning experiences for our students but also foster research and innovation through the exchange of knowledge and ideas.”
During this event, the outstanding achievements of students who graduated in 2023 and secured admissions to top 100 world-ranked universities in the UK, according to QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education were felicitated. Notably, around 10 students who secured admissions to prestigious institutions like Imperial College London, The University of Manchester, and the University of Birmingham were felicitated during the ceremony. Presidency University will award the prestigious Chancellor’s Bon Voyage Scholarship for Higher Studies to these exceptional students, providing financial assistance based on the world ranking of the universities.
The Chief Guest, Mr Chandru Iyer, emphasised the growing partnership between Indian and UK and the role of Education is very crucial.
Recently the University felicitated more than 140 students who got International Opportunities in 12 Countries. Students have not only secured life-changing international opportunities but have also saved an astounding amount of tuition fees, amounting to Rs. 5.46 Crores. Furthermore, they have received significant financial support in the form of monthly stipends and accommodation worth Rs. 96 Lacs.
