Mumbai: Welspun Global Trade LLC., part of the $2.3 billion Welspun Group, announced that the U.S Department of State has signed and issued aPresidential Permit to construct the Keystone XL pipeline project.The prestigious project is partnered by Welspun Global Trade LLC to supply line pipes to TransCanada Corp.The decision was communicated to TransCanada Corp and Welspun Global Trade LLC officials.
Mr. Rusty Fisher, Senior Vice President, Welspun Global Trade LLC, said, “We welcome President Trump’s ratification of the KeyStone XL pipeline. The decision to revive the pipeline project will result in creating thousands of American jobs and will fulfill energy needs of the nation in addition to having a multiplier effect on the US economy.”
Phase four of the Keystone pipeline projectwould link oil producers in Canada and North Dakota with refiners and export terminals on the Gulf Coast. The pipeline will carry tar sands oil from Canada to refineries on the Texas Gulf Coast.
“Welspun has completed its manufacturing obligations but our manufacturing facilities in Little Rock, Arkansas are fully geared up to fulfill any additional requirement of pipes as the project moves ahead. Further, forthcoming requirements of logistics, certification, quality checks, and re-coatings are also expected to create significant number of additional jobs and result in an enhanced capacity utilization for us.”
