President says, a new era of higher education is flourishing in J&K; Addresses Annual Convocation of IIM at Jammu

New Delhi: In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, President of India, Ramnath Kovind addressed the 5th Annual Convocation of the Indian Institute of Management in Jammu this evening.

Speaking on this occasion, President Kovind said that a new era of higher education is flourishing in Jammu and Kashmir and the education ecosystem is getting better. Urging students to positively contribute to the development of a stronger nation, the President said that education sets mind and soul free from ignorance and negativity, adding youth are catalysts of a future and stronger India.

Commending girls for getting the top three gold medals, Mr Kovind said that India is moving forward with greater women empowerment.

A total of 214 students were conferred with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree this year. The main highlight of the convocation was that 77 female students were awarded their degrees. On this occasion, the President also inaugurated the Diversity Cell at IIM, Jammu. He will also pay obeisance at the shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji tomorrow.
