Prof Asad Ullah Khan gets Malaviya Memorial Award

Aligarh: The diligent and conscientious work in the areas of drug resistance mechanism, drug designing, biofilm, photodynamic threrapy, infection control and Nanomedicine has fetched Prof Asad Ullah Khan, Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) the ‘Malaviya Memorial Award-Senior Faculty’ of the Biotech Research Society, India (BRSI) for the year 2019.

He will receive the honour on April 4, 2021 at the opening session of the ‘XVII BRSI Convention of the Society’, an International Conference on Biotechnology for Sustainable Agriculture, Health and Environment (BSAEH-2020) at Jaipur, Rajasthan.

“Achievements of Prof Asad have been valued as highly significant after an evaluation of his performance and contribution,” conveyed Prof T P Singh of BRSI in an official letter.

“The conference will be held on hybrid mode, i.e., in-person and virtual participation. While we are eager to see you in-person at the conference venue, we understand if you decide to attend the conference virtually,” stated the letter from BRSI.

Winning coveted awards is often the peak of professional achievement, but Prof Asad has kept sight on repeating success and creating his own path. Earlier, he also received the National Bioscience Award of DBT, Government of India; Visitor’s Award of 2019 and Om Prakash Bhasin Award, 2019 among other honours.
