Prof (Dr) Ravinder Kumar Chadha has been awarded the prestigious Tagore National Fellowship for Cultural Research (TNFCR) by the Ministry of Culture

Prof (Dr) Ravinder Kumar Chadha has been awarded the prestigious Tagore National Fellowship for Cultural Research (TNFCR) by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Prof Chadha “Tagore National Fellow” has earlier superannuated as Additional Secretary, Parliament of India, Lok Sabha. The “Tagore National Fellowship for Cultural Research (TNFCR)” is awarded by the Ministry of Culture to a ‘legend’ in his area of work who has made a significant contribution to knowledge. During his two-year Tagore Fellowship, Dr Chadha will work on the proposed Project FAIIR (Free Access to Indian Information Resources) that is creating an Indian Publications Data Repository.

 

An accomplished Senior Government Officer with a vision and leadership insights to strategically plan, direct and execute institutional operations Dr Chadha also worked as Research Dean and Professor at Malwanchal University, Adjunct Faculty at Banasthali Vidyapeeth, member of Governing Board of Inflibnet.

 

He was Member Secretary of Indian Delegation to WTO Parliamentary Conference, Geneva 2014; Inter-Parliamentary Seminar for Asian Parliaments on ‘Preventing and Responding to Violence against Women and Girls’ 2011 and Secretary to the Parliamentary Delegation to Iran. A widely travelled professional, he was invited to the USA during 1993 and 2002 under International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP) and also to Germany by Goethe Institute. Dr Chadha has contributed more than 100 scholarly papers/presentations, Keynote addresses including at PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Royal Society of Chemistry and several National/ International Conferences.

 

Dr Chadha has worked with several Parliamentary Committees including Defence, Library, Welfare of SC & ST, Urban Development, Estimate, etc; Lok Sabha Television Channel (LSTV); Computer Division, Library and Reference, Research, Documentation and Information Service; Press & Public Relations; Audio-Visual Unit; Parliament Museum & Archives, etc. Dr Chadha had the privilege to accompany Indian Parliamentary Delegations to various world Parliaments and visited several countries to attend conferences and seminars.

 

Recipient of ICDT Lifetime Achievement Award for Distinguish Services in 2018, DLA Life-Time Achievement Award 2018, Manav Rachna CL Life Time Achievement Award 2020, LPA Life Time achievement Award 2019, Master Motilal Sanghi Award 2009, Satkal National Award 2006.  

 

Prof. Chadha had been associated as a Member of Building Committees of Election Commission and Inflibnet, working group on Digitisation, Ministry of Information Technology; Working Group of Planning Commission on LIS for Ninth Five Year Plan; UGC, Subject Panel on LIS, 1997-2000. He had also been associated as a consultant with several organisations including UGC, IIFT, IIPA, IGNCA, Panjab University, Mizoram University, Aligarh Muslim University, etc for automating their activities.
