Prof Faud Saeed Sherani , Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) appointed as the new Coordinator of the Cultural Education Centre

Aligarh, July 13: Prof Faud Saeed Sherani, Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been appointed as the new Coordinator of the Cultural Education Centre (CEC) of the University for a period of two years, in addition to his own duties. He took charge from Prof S Sirajuddin Ajmali whose term expired.

A professor in the Department of Kulliyat, Prof Sherani served as the Coordinator of the CEC from 2012-2019. He is credited with creating four new clubs and up-gradation of eleven Clubs in CEC; renaming of GEC to CEC, and sound and light installation, acoustics and air conditioning of the Kennedy Auditorium.

He started annual international film festival “Filmsaaz”, annual literary festival “Litfest”, annual art show “Artniche”, and annual music festival “Sur”. During his tenure the university won 90 awards in literary-cultural festivals across the country.
