Prof Hassan Imam appointed Chairman, Department of History

ALIGARH  : Prof Hassan Imam, Department of History, Aligarh Muslim University has been appointed Chairman of the concerned department for three years with effect from March 17, 2024.

Prof Imam has been engaged in teaching and research for over 29 years and has published one book and contributed more than 85 research papers, book chapters and research articles covering a vast arena of historical and contemporary socio-political topics and issues.

He has done pioneering work on Maulana Mazharul Haque for his M. Phil. dissertation and National Movement in Bihar for his PhD. He has been working on a major UGC research project on “Posters, Pamphlets, Leaflets and Popular Consciousness: A Study of Proscribed Literature in Northern India,1885-1947”.
