Prof K G Suresh to get Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Award

New Delhi: Senior Journalist and academician K G Suresh has been selected for the prestigious Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi award instituted by the Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, for outstanding contribution in the field of Hindi journalism and mass communication.

While Suresh, who has served as Senior Consulting Editor with Doordarshan News, has been awarded in the electronic media category, veteran Kolkata based journalist and scholar Dr Krishna Bihari Mishra has been selected for the prestigious honour in the print category.

A former Director General of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication and PTI journalist, Suresh is currently serving as the Founder Dean of the School of Modern Media at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun.

A Prem Bhatia Fellow, Suresh has earlier received the Visionary Leader in Media Education award instituted by Business World, the PRSI Leadership Award and the Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz Award for Communal Harmony.

The award carries a cash prize of Rs five lakhs, a shawl and a citation and is presented by the President of India.
