Prof Qazi Ehsan Ali gets Fellowship of Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh
ALIGARH : Prof. Qazi Ehsan Ali, Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University has been awarded with the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), Edinburgh, UK. This award is a testament to his exceptional contributions to the medical field, representing both Aligarh Muslim University and India on a global platform.
“FRCP is an honour beyond MRCP” and is awarded to individual who holds a particular position, qualification, accreditation, office or honor. Membership of the Royal College of Physicians/Surgeons (MRCP/MRCS) is a prerequisite for applying to FRCP/FRCS for the physicians and surgeons respectively and is awarded after rigorous selection process involving three rounds of scrutiny and assessment by the Council of the Royal College of Physicians.
The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh was established in 1681 and is one of the oldest and most esteemed medical institutions worldwide. The FRCP signifies excellence in medical practice and is conferred upon individuals who demonstrate expertise and dedication in their respective specialties.
The fellowship ceremony included a role-signing event for the new fellows. During the ceremony, the President of the Royal College, Prof. Andrew T. Elder addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance and prestige of the fellowship. He introduced the new fellows to their peers and council members, fostering a sense of commitment and mutual respect among the recipients.
He further highlighted the historical significance of the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh, and the vital contributions its fellows have made to global healthcare. He urged the new fellows to continue their exemplary work in advancing medical science and improving patient care worldwide.
Prof Ali has also been awarded “State Oration Award, 2024 by the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists and “Dr S Radhakrishnan Distinguished Professor and Researcher Award 2023” certified by the Centre for Professional Advancement, Niti Ayog, Government of India.
