Prof Rakesh Bhargava of AMU to be NCCP President
Aligarh: Prof Rakesh Bhargava, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been elected as the President of National College of Chest Physicians (NCCP), unopposed by the NCCP Governing Council. He will assume the responsibility on April 1, 2020 for a term ending on March 31, 2022.
In a special ceremony held at the Medical Education Unit (MEU), Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) to honour Prof Rakesh; Prof Shahid Ali Siddiqui, Principal, JNMC said Prof Rakesh’s extensive work and experience in the speciality of chest diseases will be hugely beneficial for NCCP.
Prof Seema Hakim, Prof S C Sharma, Prof Zubair Ahmad, Prof Mohammad Shameem and Dr Imrana Masood among others also joined in to extend commendations for Prof Rakesh.
Prof Rakesh has been working as Professor in JNMC since 1997. His thrust areas include bronchoscopy, lung function studies, allergy testing, allergy vaccination, bronchogenic carcinoma, asthma, intestinal lung diseases, pulmonary hypertension, COPD and tuberculosis.
He regularly publishes papers in peer-reviewed journals.
