Professor Hina Younus appointed Coordinator, IBU

Aligarh : Professor Hina Younus has been appointed as the Coordinator of Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit (IBU), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for a period of three years.

 

Prof. Hina joined IBU as a lecturer in 2003. She has more than 20 years of teaching and research experience. She has established a research laboratory where her group works on various aspects of enzymes and on nanoparticles.

 

Prof. Younus is the recipient of the prestigious DAAD research fellowship and has worked at the Department of Biotechnology, Martin Luther University, Halle, Germany. She has done her Post Doctorate from IUPUI, Indianapolis, U.S.A.

 

Under her supervision, 8 Ph.D. students, 1 M.Phil student, and about 50 PG students, including 2 MD/MDS, completed their thesis and dissertations.

 

She has published about 90 research/review articles in high impact journals of repute, including Nature Structural & Molecular Biology (IF: 18.4), and 1 patent. She has edited one book, contributed 4 book chapters, and has successfully completed 3 projects. She is in the editorial boards/review panels of several research journals and a member of many scientific societies and committees.
