Program on “Women’s Entrepreneurial Empowerment” held

 

Aligarh : Aligarh Muslim University’s University Hobbies Workshop Club (UHWC) and University Film Club (UFC), in collaboration with the Training and Placement Office (TPO), organized an event aligned with G20 initiatives at Kennedy Auditorium . On September 27, an engaging panel discussion and documentary screening were held, focusing on ‘Women’s Entrepreneurial Empowerment.’

The panel featured AMU professors, including Prof. Ayesha Farooq, Prof. Sheeba Hamid and Prof. Mohd Shamim, and Dr. Salma Shaheen. Student moderators, Sheeza Shoeb and Mahvish Fatima, expertly led the discussion.

The panelists provided valuable insights into various aspects of women’s entrepreneurial growth. Prof. Ayesha Farooq addressed the challenges women encounter in accessing capital and funding for their businesses, as well as the hurdles they face in gaining recognition as business owners. Prof. Sheeba Hamid highlighted sectors where women-led startups thrive and shared strategies for women to establish valuable professional networks. Prof. Mohd Shamim shed light on available financial resources and support systems for women entrepreneurs. Dr. Salma Shaheen redefined entrepreneurship for contemporary women and offered guidance to aspiring female entrepreneurs.

The event also featured the screening of “Rita Goes Online,” a touching short film portraying the entrepreneurial journey of Ritu Kaushik, a homemaker who ventured into business with her brand ‘Ritupal Collection.’

On the occasion Mr. Saad Hameed, TPO (General) was also present. The event’s success was attributed to the efforts of UHWC’s Secretary, Areeb Ahmad, and UFC’s Secretary, Ahmad Mudassir, along with their team members.
